Portraits for NHS Heroes,Online Exhibition - Google Arts and Culture - August-Dec 2020

Ben. Oil on Linen, 15”x15”

I was delighted to take part in the Portraits for NHS Heroes project set up by fellow artist Tom Croft. The project involved artists offering free portraits to NHS workers as a thank you for all their hard work during the height of pandemic in April 2020.It was a pleasure to paint this portrait of Dr Ben Mullish as my contribution to the Portrait for NHS Heroes initiative. It was a wonderful away of thanking NHS key workers for their outstanding work and bravery during this unprecedented event. All the NHS Heroes portraits were painted from photographs sent in to artists due to the lock down restrictions.

The exhibition is now online- and there are over 700 Portraits to see - a collaboration between Google Arts and Culture and Paintings in Hopitals. The link is artsandculture.google.com/project/healthcare-heroes.

Ben,nominated by his fiancée Hilary, worked on the Covid Ward at St Mary’s Hospital,London.I’m pleased to be able to show him in a relaxed moment amid all the difficulties that all NHS staff have faced.
