Portrait for NHS Heroes Exhibition - Online - Google Arts and Culture - August-Dec 2020

Ben. Oil on Linen, 15”x15”

It was a pleasure to paint this portrait of Dr Ben Mullish as my contribution to the Portrait for NHS Heroes initiative set up by Tom Croft offering free portraits to NHS workers during lockdown. It was a wonderful away of thanking NHS key workers for their outstanding work and bravery during this unprecedented event. All the NHS Heroes portraits were painted from photographs sent in to artists due to the lock down restrictions.

The exhibition is now online- and there are  over 700 Portraits to peruse - a collaboration between Google Arts and Culture and Paintings in Hopitals. The link is artsandculture.google.com/project/healthcare-heroes.

Ben,nominated by his fiancée Hilary, worked on the Covid Ward at St Mary’s Hospital,London.I’m pleased to be able to show him in a relaxed moment amid all the difficulties that all NHS staff have faced.
